A guide for new parents

Complete Japa Care Guide

Gentle support for the mother, thoughtful care for the newborn, and practical help for the family during the Japa period.

Every family and recovery is different.
These traditional practices are general guidance only. Follow your doctor’s advice, especially after a complicated delivery or if the mother or baby has any symptoms.
01

Rest first, everything else later

The mother’s rest is the foundation of Japa. The Japa Didi helps manage the home and baby’s routine so the mother can recover, feed and bond without worry.

02

Desi ghee — a little goes a long way

Desi ghee is traditionally used in small amounts for taste and energy. Balanced, home-cooked meals matter far more than any single ingredient.

03

What is Hareera?

Hareera is a warm, sweet porridge made with ghee, flour, nuts and mild spices. Serve it warm, in small bowls, as a comforting part of the Japa diet.

04

Cotton belly wrap — gentle support only

A soft cotton belly wrap can give gentle support and comfort after delivery. Remove it if there is pain and avoid tight or prolonged use at night. It does not reduce the waist in the long term.

05

Warmth and hygiene

Keep the mother and baby comfortable and the room clean — fresh linen, a tidy baby room, and clean hands before handling the newborn.

06

Fresh Japa Laddu

Our original 75-year-old family recipe, passed down through generations and made fresh on order — a traditional part of Japa food culture.

07

Watch for warning signs

Fever, heavy bleeding, severe pain, or trouble with the baby’s feeding — contact your doctor or seek urgent medical care at once. Home care supports recovery; it never replaces medical advice.

08

Benefit of a Japa Didi

A trained Japa Didi brings it together — mother’s massage and rest support, newborn care, Japa diet cooking and household coordination — so the family can focus on the mother and baby.
